Pet of The Week: Butter (7/28/2025)
July 28, 2025PET OF THE WEEK
Butter is ready to spring into your life and be the center of your world! Just like his namesake, Butter is soft, golden, and irresistibly squishable. This little dollop of joy is as playful as he is polite (well, puppy polite). Now, what does “puppy polite” mean? It means he has a great temperament, but he is still a young baby who is learning. For instance, he doesn’t jump on people…. unless he’s really excited and forgets, which happens a lot. He’s working hard on potty training, and doing pretty well… but sometimes he has other plans. He’ll chew the toy you gave him - unless your shoelace looks more fun. He is a smart little lad who already knows how to sit on command, and is full of potential.Butter is curious but gentle, bouncy but not bonkers, and he’s already showing signs of being a Certified Good Boy. He even got to attend our 12th Annual Wine & Whiskers as a Guest Greeter and did a fantastic job! He can be a little shy in new situations, but quickly warms up once he realizes everyone is there to love and play with him. He has enjoyed the company of other dogs, especially if they want to puppy play with him and can tolerate the classic puppy shark teeth. He’s already losing some of his baby teeth, and even got a visit from the SPCA-HC toothfairy.
If you think Butter could be a good fit for you, please fill out an adoption application so that we can schedule a meet and greet: spcahancockcounty.org/adopt
