• Pet of the Week - Stella

    PET OF THE WEEK

Alright, we know this isn’t necessarily top-notch photography, but we’ll take what Stella gives us. Stella has made herself comfortable in a hidey bed and that’s where she’s sticking for now - hairball fixtures and all! Stella is a very shy, unsure girl who needs a patient, quiet home to help her blossom and grow confidence. She’s not ready to be an affectionate lap cat right now, and she will even give you a good smack if you push her boundaries. She is simply stressed and trying to protect herself from a constant cycle of change that she’s been going through. With most cats, we refer to their period of decompression as the 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months timeline; Stella is going to have a much longer decompression period. She is scared and unsure of all the changes in her life. She has her SPCA-HC friends pet her with slow, steady introductions and would love a nice human to sit and talk with her without pushing her boundaries too fast. This beautiful, pumpkin-eyed gal is worth the time and effort she will need to feel safe and comfortable. If you could be the right fit for Stella, please fill out an adoption application on our website, or send us an email at
