Camp Beech Cliff to Host Adult Outdoor Skills Day on September 20
MOUNT DESERT, Maine — Adults looking to build their outdoor skills this fall are invited to attend Adult Outdoor Skills Day on Sunday, September 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Camp Beech Cliff.
Presented by Camp Beech Cliff in partnership with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife’s Maine Outdoor Programs, this daylong event will give adults ages 18 and older the opportunity to build confidence and learn new skills in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Participants will select one three-hour workshop for the morning and another for the afternoon. Workshops will be led by Registered Maine Guides, Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife staff, educators from Camp Beech Cliff and Schoodic Institute, and experienced naturalists.

Introduction to Rod-and-Reel Fishing and Casting Skills with Registered Maine Guide Winston Tony Antoine and Schoodic Institute Environmental Educator Lex Mitchell
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. The first workshop session will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon, followed by a lunch break and the afternoon session from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Closing remarks and departure will take place from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m.
The cost is $75 per participant and includes both workshop sessions. Participants should bring their own lunch and snacks and come prepared for outdoor activities and changing fall conditions.
Limited scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis with support from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. Students are encouraged to inquire. On-site tent camping is also available Saturday night for an additional $25.
Registration is now open, and space in each workshop is limited. Workshop selections will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Camp Beech Cliff is a year-round Outdoor Education Center located in Mount Desert, Maine. Through outdoor education, leadership, and recreation programs, CBC provides opportunities for people of all ages to develop skills, build connections, and deepen their appreciation of the natural world.
