    Sailing

Sail Acadia National Park aboard a traditional Friendship Sloop - Maine’s original lobster boat!

Built in Friendship, Maine in the late 1800’s, these handsome traditional sailboats were used by coastal fisherman to haul lobster traps by hand under sail. They have remained popular because of their comfort, beauty and seaworthy nature. Take part in Maine’s maritime heritage and sail aboard the Alice E, built in 1899 - the oldest working Friendship sloop today. Pitch in and help handle the sails or just sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular coastline of Acadia National Park.

    Lobstering

Enjoy a nature cruise aboard the Elizabeth T, a real Maine lobster boat!

We'll haul lobster traps and learn all about lobsters and the industry that helps support coastal Maine. Wildlife abounds in the calm, protected waters. Watch seals at close range sun-bathing, swimming and feeding, and expect to see porpoise, eagles, osprey, and guillemot. Relax with the best views of Bear Island Lighthouse, the historic Cranberry Islands fishing village and the glacially carved Somes Sound Fjord. Aboard the Elizabeth T you'll find a fun, comfortable and knowledgeable tour of Bar Harbor’s quiet side of Acadia National Park.
