Marine Debris Painting with Mariah Reading

Transform ocean waste into a beautiful landscape with eco-artist Mariah Reading! In this unique painting class, you'll learn to see marine debris as a canvas for art. Mariah will guide participants through her signature process, teaching them how to prepare their chosen marine debris for painting, develop a landscape design inspired by their vision, and master color mixing, application, and finishing techniques. We strongly encourage you to bring your own piece of clean, non-toxic marine debris (e.g., a buoy, or buoy fragment, plastic containers, sturdy pieces of fishing gear, or a washed-up bottle). We will have a small selection of pieces available if you are unable to bring your own. All other painting materials, including brushes, paints, and primers, will be provided. This class is perfect for adults and motivated teens, with all instruction provided.
