December 6 is the best time to visit during the Village Holidays & Midnight Madness Sale. Sip on hot chocolate and sing carols before Santa lights up the village tree and reads ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Take the kids down to the MDI YMCA for holiday crafts and a photo with Santa before tucking them into bed. For night owls, the Midnight Madness Sale with discounts at local shops goes from 8 p.m. to midnight.
The shop windows will be fully decorated for the Midnight Madness Sale as part of the Bar Harbor Merchants Association’s Holiday Decorating Contest. Cast a vote for your favorite decorations at the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Winners will be announced on December 7.
