Pet of the Week: Annie (6/2/2025)
June 02, 2025PET OF THE WEEK
Annie is a 1–2-year-old poodle mix, weighing around 45 lbs, and currently in a loving foster home. She came from a neglect situation and is still learning what it means to feel safe and cared for. Despite her rough start, Annie is making great progress and has already experienced so many firsts - her first walk, first car ride, first real dog food, and even her first time playing with toys.
She’s a gentle, shy soul who will need plenty of time, patience, and understanding to truly come out of her shell. Once she trusts you, she’s incredibly sweet and loyal. Loud noises and new experiences can still be scary, and she struggles with being left alone, so a home where someone is around often would be ideal.
Annie is doing well with potty training, is okay with cats, and has been friendly, but cautious, around other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with children, so a quieter home would be best.
She’s not quite ready for adoption just yet (she still needs her spay surgery), but we’re hoping to find the right forever home for her soon. Annie has come such a long way, and with a kind, patient person by her side, she’ll continue to blossom. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
Again, please note that Annie is currently in a foster home and not physically at the SPCA-HC. If you are interested in Annie, please fill out an adoption application: https://www.spcahancockcounty.org/adopt/
