Cadillac Summit Road to Close Temporarily for Repaving

BAR HARBOR, MAINE – The National Park Service (NPS) plans to close Cadillac Summit Road in Acadia National Park to all uses from Monday, May 6, at 6:00 a.m. through Thursday, May 9, at 8:00 am for repaving and striping. All vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian access is prohibited during the closure.

Weather may affect the timing of the work since paving can be completed only when the air temperature is above 40°F and there is no precipitation. The NPS is monitoring the weather to select a time when conditions are best for repaving.

The NPS also expects single lane closures on other sections of the Park Loop Road throughout the season, so visitors should expect delays and plan their visit accordingly. For up-to-date information about road closures, please check Current Conditions for Acadia National Park.

Vehicle reservations are required for Cadillac Summit Road from May 22 through October 27, 2024. Please visit Cadillac Summit Road Vehicle Reservations at Recreation.gov for more information.
