For more than 40 years, Earl Brechlin has explored the woods and rivers of the North Maine Woods by foot and canoe with a small group of friends, the Moose River Boys. Now, in “Return to Moose River: In Search of the Spirit of the Great North Woods,” Brechlin explores what this special part of Maine means to him. Join him for the launch of “Return to Moose River” on Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m. at the Jesup Memorial Library.
Often humorous and thrilling at once, this is a heartfelt narrative which features interconnected essays peppered with tidbits of history, woods lore, and advice from a seasoned outdoorsman. “Return to Moose River” highlights Brechlin’s search to comprehend sense of place, and find self in exploring spiritual and historic connections with a spectacular, ancient landscape.
