Experience the Holidays in Bar Harbor

As the brilliant fall leaves fade and we transition to cooler temperatures, Bar Harbor becomes quieter, but nonetheless charming and enjoyable. Experience the serene side of Bar Harbor – we believe the magic of the “off-season” is yet to be discovered by many. It’s a time to cozy up and settle in, but also for fun and games in the crisp air, twinkling lights, hot cocoa, and of course, holiday shopping. These are just a few of the reasons you’ll want to book your holiday with us this November or December.

    Thanksgiving Dinner in Bar Harbor

Hosting Thanksgiving can be a time-consuming, stressful affair – take the work out of preparations by planning a coastal Thanksgiving escape and dining at one of our local restaurants. Savor traditional favorites or creative cuisine while enjoying seaside views. Here are some spots open for Thanksgiving dinner this year:

    • La Bella Vita at the Harborside Hotel:  You can have your choice of traditional Thanksgiving fare or fresh and local Maine favorites. Savor an elegant take on the classic turkey meal with herb butter-basted organic turkey served with whipped potato silk, veggies, stuffing, orange relish, and pan gravy. Or go for pan-roasted salmon, Tuscan fall gnocchi, or the steak. Dessert will not disappoint with a choice of pumpkin pie or molten chocolate cake. Reservations are recommended. See more here.
    • Galyn's is serving Thanksgiving lunch and dinner for parties of six or fewer. Don’t miss their traditional meal of roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with homemade gravy, and green beans available until at least 4 p.m.
    Holiday Shopping in Bar Harbor
Many of our shops continue to be open throughout November and December. Did you know? The Acadia Shops now carry the iconic Maine brand L.L. Bean, so you can find high-quality apparel that will be the perfect gift for your next outdoor adventure. Maine maple syrup, blueberry treats, and handcrafted items are just some of the other delights that make holiday shopping in Bar Harbor a must for stocking stuffers.
