Each Memorial Day, the Bar Harbor community gathers to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
This annual community tradition brings residents, veterans, local organizations, and visitors together in remembrance and gratitude in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor.

What to Expect
Bar Harbor’s annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony is a community gathering centered around reflection, remembrance, and honoring those who lost their lives while serving our country.
The ceremony traditionally brings together community members, veterans, local organizations, and visitors on the Village Green for a commemorative program.

Attending the Ceremony
Parking: Public and street parking is available throughout downtown Bar Harbor. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and allow additional time to find parking.
Seating: Seating may be limited. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair if needed.
Accessibility: The Bar Harbor Village Green includes paved pathways and accessible areas for attendees.
Traffic: Temporary traffic holds or other traffic adjustments may be necessary around the Village Green during portions of the ceremony. Updated traffic information will be provided as the 2027 event approaches.
Looking Back at Memorial Day 2026
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony and helped Bar Harbor honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.
The 2026 ceremony took place on the Bar Harbor Village Green and included a special appearance by the U.S. Army Band, bringing the community together for a meaningful morning of remembrance.
