This workshop is for painters with some experience and with interest in loosening up and moving away from recording detail -finding inspiration in the beautiful gardens at the Woodlawn Museum. Through demos and individual guidance, emphasis will be on simplifying the landscape to its essence, dancing on the edge of abstraction. Any painting medium is welcome as your will not be learning specific painting techniques for any particular medium. You will learn how to utilize plein air sketches and reference photos in the abstraction process. Come prepared to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone and let go of perfection. http://www.lindapackard.com/
Day 1: Preliminary sketching in and around gardens. Work with these sketches and related photos to make 3 small abstractions
Day 2: Dedicate the full day to starting and completing at least one significant painting, building on process learned from Day 1.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required at www.woodlawnmuseum.com
