A lantern walk is an observance of the changing season. The lanterns represent the light that each of us carries inside to light up the dark days. Come to the Southwest Harbor Public Library to make a lantern between 3-5 pm. Supplies will be provided, but if you have a tall wide mouth jar, please bring it. The lantern walk will take place at 5:30 p.m. Participants will meet at the High Road parking lot in Southwest Harbor and walk down Causeway Lane with their lanterns lit. On the Causeway Bridge, Jennifer Armstrong, a beloved storyteller and musician from Belfast will tell a seasonal story. After the walk, around 6:30 p.m., everyone is invited back to the Library for a simple meal of soup and bread. Please bring your own place setting. Also, please call Susan Plimpton, Children’s Librarian, if you can make soup or help in any way. This is a fun family event and all are welcome.
