Bar Harbor’s Fourth of July Celebration brings the community together each year for a full day of festivities throughout downtown. From the annual Independence Day Parade and live entertainment to community traditions and fireworks over Frenchman Bay, July 4th is one of Bar Harbor’s most anticipated celebrations of the year.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Bar Harbor for America’s 250th Independence Day celebration in 2026!

From the businesses and community organizations that participated in the parade to our performers, volunteers, sponsors, Town partners, residents, and thousands of visitors who celebrated with us throughout the day, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the celebration possible.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to Bar Harbor on July 4, 2027 for another day of community, celebration, and summer traditions.

A Bar Harbor Fourth of July Tradition

There’s nothing quite like celebrating the Fourth of July in Bar Harbor. Each year, downtown comes alive with a full day of activities for residents and visitors of all ages.

While the complete 2027 schedule will be announced closer to the event, annual festivities traditionally include:

Independence Day Parade
One of the highlights of the day, Bar Harbor’s annual parade winds through downtown with local businesses, community organizations, floats, performers, and plenty of red, white, and blue.

Community Celebrations
Local organizations and businesses join the festivities throughout the day with food, activities, special events, and other ways to celebrate around town.

Live Entertainment
Enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the day at locations around downtown Bar Harbor.

Fireworks Over Frenchman Bay
End the night along the waterfront with a spectacular fireworks display over Frenchman Bay.

Get Involved in the 2027 Celebration

There are plenty of ways for local businesses, organizations, residents, and community partners to be part of Bar Harbor’s Fourth of July Celebration.

March in the Parade
Parade registration for 2027 will open in early 2027. Businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, performers, and other groups are encouraged to participate.

Bar Harbor’s Fourth of July Celebration is made possible with the support of local businesses and community partners. Sponsorship opportunities for the 2027 celebration will be available soon.

Support the Celebration
Community contributions help the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce continue traditions including the Independence Day Parade, live entertainment, and fireworks. Contributions to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce are not tax deductible.

Decorate Bar Harbor
Each year, we encourage businesses and residents throughout Bar Harbor to help us turn the town red, white, and blue for the holiday. Decorate your storefront, lodging property, restaurant, home, lawn, or porch and help make the entire community part of the celebration.
