Yin Yang Yoga
This practice will lead us to feeling more at home in our bodies, allowing our energy to flow freely to all channels, feeling harmony, strength, and flexibility. The yin portion of class is gentle, supportive and meditative. All poses are on the floor to allow our muscles to relax and deep connective tissues to gently stretch through conscious breathing (pranayama). Poses are held for a longer period of time (generally 3-5 minutes) as we relax into the edge of the pose, allow our qi (energy) to flow and expand our awareness of our body. The yang portion allows us to integrate this awareness into a sense of alignment and stability with a vinyasa flow. Through a combination of floor, standing, and balance poses, we build on the increased range of motion initiated with the yin poses. This class is suitable for all levels.
