Schoodic Institute announces its Winter Into Spring Tuesday Morning Birding Field Trips. Join Bird Ecology Director Seth Benz for any or all of these 3 hour field trips that explore the nooks and crannies of Schoodic Peninsula in search of wintering birds. Open to all skill levels from beginner to advanced birder. Pick up ID tips, learn about the institute’s “Bird Schoodic” projects, gain insights into the latest buzz in conservation news, and automatically participate in the institute’s research and data collection efforts. Each field trip will meet at and travel by van from Schooner Commons on the Institute campus. Park in North Lot near the Schooner Commons dining hall. Time: 8:45 AM to Noon. Complimentary hot beverage at 8:45 in Schooner Lounge. Cost: $10/field trip**. **Pre-register for any 5 field trips and get a 6th one for free. Please pre-register by calling Michelle Pinkham at 288-1356. Limited to 12 participants. Tuesday dates: February 5, 12 & 26. Participants are reminded to dress for the weather and bring binoculars (we have a few loaners).We will provide a spotting scope and participants are certainly welcome to bring your own if you wish. There are no inclement weather dates. If the weather prevents a field trip from going we will refund fee or credit for future field trip.
