Learn more about organic orcharding with C.J. Walke, the manager of College of the Atlantic’s Peggy Rockefeller Farm and an organic orchard educator at Maine Organic Farming and Gardening Association (MOFGA), on Thursday, May 10 at 7 p.m. at the Jesup Memorial Library.
The Peggy Rockefeller Fam has a heritage apple orchard which contains 25 unique Maine varieties on standard rootstock, including Addison Ancient, Orland Town Office and Captain Zero. The farm also has dwarf apple trees. In his role at MOFGA, Walke works with farmers to build orchard health and promote biological diversity among fruit trees.
This is the first talk in a series of programs funded by a grant from the Rose and Samuel Rudman Library Trust of the Maine Community Foundation. For more information on the talk, contact the Jesup at 207-288-4245 or mrice@jesuplibrary.org.
