Limited capacity: Attendance is capped at 10 adult participants. Hidden color exists all around us, waiting to be transformed into works of art. Have you ever wondered how to utilize local plant species and food compost in a sustainable, creative way? In this hands-on, one day workshop at the Naturalist’s Notebook, dive into the realm of natural printmaking and dyeing processes with Katama Murray of Teach Peace Prints. Participants will develop a basic understanding of sustainable foraging, bundling and fabric preparation techniques, as well as ways in which we as stewards of the earth can bring plant spirits to life in the form of cloth and fiber. The process of mordanting will be covered briefly, and further details will be printed and sent home with you. This meditative process yields different results each time, and is a great opportunity to let go while collaborating with nature. Eco printing offers unique variations and a world of possibilities that allow for full exploration.
