DESCRIPTION:The Abbe Museum will be open for Winter Community Day on February 19\, 2025\, from 10am to 3pm. Delve into the world of the Wabanaki with the Abbe Museum's Curator of Education Christiana Becker. From 10:30am-11:30am hear a reading of the Children's books The Canoe Maker: David Moses Bridges\, Passamaquoddy Birch Bark Artisan by Donald Soctomah and Jean Flahive\, Thanks to the Animals by Allen Sockabasin\, and Kunu's Basket by Lee Decora Francis.\n\n\n\nAn arts & crafts station will be open for artists of all ages who want to color animals drawn by Wabanaki artists or create a customizable postcard about their experience at the Abbe. Dr. Aaron Miller\, Luce Curator of Exhibits and Collections\, will be doing a collection spotlight featuring some rarely seen items from the Abbe's collection\, from 11am-noon. Visitors are welcome to join a guided tour of the People of the First Light Gallery from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
