DESCRIPTION:Summer Fruit Desserts. 3-Part Series\n\nSunday July 11 10-11:30\n\nSunday July 18 10-11:30\n\nSunday July 25 10-11:30\n\n \n\nA recipe handout will be provided prior to each class so students can shop for groceries needed to  complete the class\, and any equipment\, utensils\, do-ahead steps needed. \n\nWeek 1: Strawberry Shortcakes Two Ways  \n\nWe'll make two versions of this iconic dessert: traditional and a chocolate version\, with fresh\, sweet\,  vanilla scented strawberries and cr me fraiche whipped cream \n\nWeek 2: Crisps and Cobblers \n\nNectarine Raspberry Cobbler and Cherry Crisp\, plus ideas on different combinations of fruits that can be  used. \n\nWeek 3: Blueberry Hand Pies \n\nJuicy blueberries encased in a flakey crust\, baked or fried\, with sweet vanilla glaze. \n\nAbout the Instructor:\n\nJoAnne Wood was born in England\, grew up in San Francisco\, and comes from a long line of fine  British bakers. After graduation from the California Culinary Academy\, she worked as a pastry  chef in the San Francisco Bay area. Since moving to Maine in 2000\, she has worked as a professional pastry chef\, owned a dessert catering company and\, for more than 15 years\, taught  cooking classes. She has a passion for cooking and baking\, and for teaching people of all ages.
