SUMMARY:Bringing Color into Black and White
DESCRIPTION:Bringing Color into Black and White Three Sessions: November 15th\, November 22nd\, and November 29th ArtWaves. 1345A Hwy 102 Town Hill Bar Harbor To register: https://artwavesmdi.org/event-5027673 This class will cover some of the basics of acrylic painting and open the window into personal expression through color. Working from the simple black and white silhouettes of plants\, like branches against the sky\, we will explore color mixing\, layering\, composition\, and an abstract approach to looking and translating what we see. Kaitlyn Miller began her painting career by observing the immeasurable beauty of simple branches against the sky and painting them. Having worked as a studio potter on Little Cranberry Island for the last 15 years she is newly transplanted to the mainland and is excited for more color to come into the world. She has her BFA in Ceramics from Maine College of Art and is a full time studio potter and pleinair painter who has set her roots on Little Cranberry Island for the past 15 years. Newly transplanted to the mainland\, she is now branching out into teaching and is excited for more color to come into the world.
