DESCRIPTION:Learn carving from our master carver\, Steve Valleau\, who has been sharing this art with students at the museum for 37 years. This 1.5-hour class on Friday\, Feb. 17 from 10:30 a.m. to noon\, is suitable for beginners\, and comes with a kit that includes a bird blank and paints. Tools are available to borrow. Learn the basics of this classic American art form\, and leave with something you create. Class size is limited. Students must be at least 11 years old\; those 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $28 for museum members and $35 for nonmembers.  Registration is required. Sign up at www.wendellgilleymusem.org/events or call 207-244-7555. The museum is open Fridays and Saturdays through the end of April.
