DESCRIPTION:Pianist Kayong An will make her Festival debut on Tuesday\, July 13th at 8pm at the Criterion Theatre\, 35 Cottage St\, in Bar Harbor. Ms. An is a First Prize Winner at the NY International Artists Association Piano Competition and a Silver Medal Winner at the Paris Piano Competition. She will perform the Handel Chaconne\, Chopin's G Minor Ballade\, as well as de Falla's Three Spanish Pieces and the virtuosic Etude-Fantasy by John Corigliano and Earl Wild's Three Transcription Etudes based on songs of Gershwin. This and all Festival piano events are made possible in part by a grant from the Rea Charitable Trust.
