SUMMARY:Author Talk and Book Signing: Paul Doiron "Stay Hidden"
DESCRIPTION:When a woman is killed in a hunting accident on the remote Maquoit Island off the coast of Maine\, newly promoted Warden Investigator Mike Bowditch thinks the case should be open and shut. But in "Stay Hidden" this simple case becomes a dangerously complicated murder investigation. "Stay Hidden" is the ninth book in author Paul Doiron's series featuring Bowditch. Doiron will be at the Jesup Memorial Library on Friday\, July 13 at 7 p.m. for an author talk and book signing. \n\n \n\nBy the time Bowditch reaches the island\, the hunter now claims he didn't fire the fatal shot\, and Bowditch begins to suspect the secretive community might be covering up the identity of whoever killed Ariel Evans\, a controversial author who was supposedly writing a book about the island's notorious hermit. But then the weekly ferry arrives and off steps the dead woman herself. Ariel Evans is very much alive\, and determined to solve her own "murder."\n\n \n\nBooklist writes\, "Doiron brings all his considerable talent and his extensive knowledge as an outdoor guide in Maine to bear in this ninth Mike Bowditch novel...The plot is complex\, and the action intense\, made all the more so by forbidding terrain. The characters are well developed and clearly defined despite the dense fog that surrounds them\, literally and figuratively. The extraordinary sense of place makes this Doiron's strongest novel yet." \n\n \n\nA native of Maine\, Doiron attended Yale University\, where he graduated with a degree in English. "The Poacher's Son\," the first book in the Mike Bowditch series\, won the Barry award\, the Strand award for best first novel\, and was nominated for the Edgar\, Anthony\, and Macavity awards in the same category. Doiron is a Registered Maine Guide specializing in fly fishing and lives on a trout stream in coastal Maine with his wife\, Kristen Lindquist.\n\n \n\nBooks will be on sale that night courtesy of co-sponsor Sherman's Books and the talk is co-sponsored by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. \n\n \n\nFor more information on Doiron visit pauldoiron.com and for more information on the talk contact the Jesup at 207-288-4245 or mrice@jesuplibrary.org.
