DESCRIPTION:Get a sneak peek of the Acadia Dance Festival at the Jesup Memorial Library on Thursday\, July 25 at 7 p.m. The festival\, which features performances by Nimbus Dance\, will be at the Criterion Theatre on Saturday\, July 27 at 8 p.m. This event at the Jesup is free and open to the public. \n\n \n\nDuring this event\, Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott and Nimbus company dancers will perform excerpts from the dances that will be showcased during the festival. Along with the dance excerpts\, Pott will discuss Nimbus' creative process and the ways that Nimbus uses contemporary dance as both art form and as tool for community and youth engagement. Nimbus Dance has been working with local students from the community as well as adult companies and other movement artists. The groups they have been working with will perform before the main dance performance at the Criterion. \n\n \n\nNimbus was called one of "Best Dance Performances of 2016" by The Huffington Post and called "gorgeous [and] exquisite" by Broadway World.
