Vicky Smith and Thor Recherche\, both artist members with ArtWaves\, will each bring two pieces of art. Vicky paints scenes around MDI while Thor's art is very abstract. The four pieces will be set up on easels around the room. Participants will choose one of the pieces to inspire a flash (on-the-spot) poem. Then\, the poems associated with each piece of art will be shared and at the end\, the artist will share his/her response and "story" behind the piece. This is a fun\, free event\, all welcome! If the poets are willing\, poems will be posted in conjunction with the art as part of the Artists & Poets exhibit at the Southwest Harbor Public Library in May.
