Fatimah Loren Dreier\, provides a framework for connecting structural harm with psychological trauma that makes the task of social mobility often misunderstood. In her talk\, Fatimah will offer an analysis of race\, criminal justice\, and public health as she weaves her personal and professional experiences in public policy and social justice. \n\n\n\nFatimah Loren Dreier is the Executive Director of the Health Alliance for Violence Intervention (HAVI) and a Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellow in Health Equity Leadership at Yale School of Management. The HAVI is a national network of hospital-based violence intervention programs (HVIPs) serving violently injured patients by addressing the social determinants of health. Through innovative community/hospital partnerships in over 80 Cities in the US and abroad\, the HAVI has expanded health-based\, trauma-informed care by cultivating a powerful national alliance of ER doctors\, trauma surgeons\, researchers\, violence prevention professionals\, and communities impacted by violence.\n\n\n\nFatimah's vision for social change has been shaped by a rich heritage of resilience in the wake of harm: from her father's incarceration to her family's experiences with homelessness.
